Cast and Characters

Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) is the founder of the Xavier Institute of Higher Learning. The school was for mutants (genetically altered humans from birth) to learn to control their powers in order for them to safely become a part of the society at large. Xavier has always wanted a peaceful coexistence between mutants and humans.

Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) has a healing factor that can heal virtually any wound or disease, and also slows his aging. Logan also has retractable bone claws that extrude from his forearms. His bones and claws were bonded with adamantium, rendering them unbreakable.

Magneto (Ian McKellen) is the X-Men's single greatest foe, he has killed many of them. He used to be known as Eric Lensherr, but that name is thought to be just a fabrication.

Be it rain, wind, snow, or lightning, if it has an atmosphere, Storm (Halle Berry) can control it. Her body automatically adjusts itself to the surrounding temperature and she can use herself as a lightning rod to channel lightning through her body. She is also an excellent thief and lockpicker.

When Jean Grey's (Famke Janssen) best friend Annie was hit by a car and lay dying, Jean's powers first manifested themselves and she read Annie's thoughts. Her parents then took her to Xavier where she enrolled in the school.

Cyclops' (James Marsden) eyes constantly fire red energy beams. At full power, these beams can punch through mountains. However, Scott Summers cannot control his power, and is forced to always wear a ruby quartz visor, glasses or goggles.

Rogue's (Anna Paquin) mutant power is to absorb the memories, abilities and physical characteristics of anyone with whom she comes into flesh-to-flesh contact.

Aside from having naturally blue skin, Mystique (Rebecca Romijn-Stamos) is a metamorph, able to change shape into anyone she's seen. She can modify the transformation somewhat, and even change only a part of herself.

William Stryker (Brian Cox) believes that mutants have no rights. He and his men have one goal: to make the world a safer place without mutants.

Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming) has blue fur, yellow eyes, fangs and a prehensile tail. He has three fingers and toes on each appendage and can stick to walls. He is a line-of-sight teleporter and he's also a master swordsman and acrobat.

Yuriko Oyama (Kelly Hu) is silent but deadly; she is volatile and enigmatic. Working for William Stryker, Deathstrike's remarkable body has talons made of the same metal as that of Wolverine.

Iceman (Shawn Ashmore) has always manifested his powers to lower his external and internal body temperature. Now, however he has realized his ability to turn his entire body into ice and also to revert back to his human form. This allows him to change shape at will.
